Naomi is all excited to create lesbian-made lesbian pornography
for straight men, however her plan meets with rejection from her
producer, and criticism from her lesbian friends. Disheartened,
Naomi
turns to an on-line chat room in an effort to cheer herself up,
and it's there that she meets "Sugar," a woman describing herself
as earnest but nexperienced. When the two begin emailing, Naomi
finds herself captivated by Sugar's kindness, consolation and encouragement.
Naomi is meanwhile approached by Miki, a performer on a TV show
she directs. When flirtatious Miki makes her move, however, Naomi
declines, spilling the beans on her relationship with Sugar. Who
would ever have guessed that Sugar and Miki are one and the same?
You'll have to watch for yourself to find out just how this love
story ends.
A larger-than-life love story written by the DK Sisters (Dez and
Kaoru), Sugar Sweet marks the full-length directorial debut of Tokyo-based
lesbian director Dez, whose Dyke Just Do It and Disposable Lez have
shown previously at TLGFF. Not to be missed! Scheduled for broadcast
in August on Sky Perfect TV's Theatre 135.
Sugar Sweet will be preceded by 3-Second Melancholy at 16:00 pm
in the lobby of Spiral Hall (3F): "More than friends, but less than
lovers." A fable about love, desire and friendship between five
women in Tokyo, circa now.
