On September 28, 1965, three men held up an armored car in Buenos Aires. After killing the guards, the men escaped with moneyand weapons to lie low in Montevideo, Uruguay. Apparently two of the robbers were gay, but legend has it that their passion for each other was unable to withstand the tension of the heist, and one of them locked himself in his room to read the Bible, while his partner roamed the streets of Montevideo in search of anonymous encounters with men and women. Eventually, a tip-off alerted the police that the three were hiding out in an apartment.
Based on the true story and with a stellar performance by Eduardo Noriega (Abre losojos "Open Your Eyes"), Burnt Money turns a potent mix of doomed lovers, sizzling sexual tension and smoldering violence into a tragic but uncompromisingly hot romance.
