According
to the shorts in this program, the world of men is full of danger,
lust and pleasure. Two German shorts -- Piglets, in which an interfering
grandmother tries to put a damper on the fun of two playing piglets,
and Dessous, a tale of two men, the tango and some silky lingerie--
frame a trio of works from the US: Compulsion, with its two lovers
who head off separately to the darkness of NYC's meatmarket district;
lost, in which a boy wonders what kind of souvenir he has gotten
from a one-night stand; and The Mountain King, the story of a hustler
who takes his customers' clothes in payment for his services. Meanwhile,
in Time Off, the first Israeli film to deal with homosexuality in
the army, young and quiet Jonathan finds himself singled out for
an ambiguous game of cat-and-mouse by his lieutenant.
